a german grandchild's funeral

A combined work of film-making and writing.

A German woman in England realizes there is more to being

German than being German. In the film, a humorous and

moving journey, we witness her dying to her country’s past.

Story telling, symbolic imagery and montages of archive

material are put together in a captivating mix. In the book

autobiographical text, history and fiction work together in a

cunning attempt to come to terms with the past.
